Mission Trips

   Immanuel sent two teams to Guatemala this year. Both groups worked with CALMS to construct homes for members of the Lutheran church in La Trementina, a small village located approximately 20 minutes from Zacapa. In addition, the second team spent time doing medical and dental work as well as leading a Vacation Bible School in the afternoons for the local children.   


Since 2002, Immanuel members have traveled to Panama, Mexico, and Guatemala to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and lend a helping hand. In 2009 we sent two teams to Guatemala, one including parents and teenagers. Both groups worked with Central American Lutheran Mission Society(CALMS) to construct homes for members of the Lutheran church in La Trementina, a small village located approximately 20 minutes from Zacapa. In addition, the second team spent time doing medical and dental work as well as leading a Vacation Bible School in the afternoons for the local children.
